Working with the Vakantiebank
Holiday park De Nollen is proud to work with the De Vakantiebank foundation. This foundation makes holidays possible for people who do not have the means to get away. De Vakantiebank gives families on an income around the level of social assistance the chance of a carefree week's holiday in the Netherlands. Through our partnership we are glad to help create lovely memories for families who really need them. We think it is valuable to offer families a place where they can find calm, step back from daily life and recharge.
Sustainable workwear
At holiday park De Nollen we think it is important to extend our sustainable vision to our workwear. That is why a large part of it is supplied by Goodfuture, a specialist in sustainable workwear made from materials such as organic cotton and recycled fabrics.
Successful installation of an Energy Management System, with thanks to the province of Noord-Holland
We are proud to report that an advanced Energy Management System (EMS) was recently installed successfully at our holiday park De Nollen in Callantsoog. This important step in our sustainability strategy was made possible in part by a grant from the province of Noord-Holland, for which we would like to express our appreciation.
The EMS is linked to three main components of our energy supply: the large solar field at the back of the park, the solar panels on the roof of the central building, and the two charging points at the park entrance.
Thanks to this system we have real-time insight into energy generation and consumption, which allows us to actively manage savings, make efficient use of the electricity we generate ourselves and avoid peak loads. In doing so we contribute not only to our own energy efficiency but also to the wider social goal of preventing grid congestion in Noord-Holland.
This investment enables us to run our business with an eye to the future and to people, the environment and infrastructure. We thank the province for its support and for its confidence in our contribution to a more sustainable region.
People and society
Recognised training company
We are glad to help train the next generation, so trainees are very welcome with us, even if they come from far away. We host trainees from a range of courses and can offer them good accommodation in our staff house.
Diversity among our staff
We judge people not on who they are but on what they do. Our team is a great mix of people from all kinds of backgrounds and of widely differing ages, and we are proud of that.
Sponsorship & sport
Each season we organise a number of sponsorship activities for a good (local) cause. Sport brings people together and matters for a healthy lifestyle, which is why we sponsor various (sporting) events, sometimes as main sponsor.
Accessibility
We believe camping should be accessible to as many people as possible, and stay that way. That is why in 2018 De Nollen extended the existing toilet buildings with two fine rooms with accessible sanitary facilities, and had the park assessed by Ongehinderd with a view to certification. We are not there yet, but we take this aim into account with every investment and whenever something is replaced.
